Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Scrub Tech at Great Bend Hospital to support the surgical team in the operative setting. You will assist with major and minor procedures, maintain asepsis, and ensure instruments are prepared for use.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and BLS certification, with CNA preferred. This full-time role requires readiness to work in a dynamic operating room environment and collaborate with nurses and physicians.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• CPR certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains asepsis, prep and draping; tracks needle and instrument counts.
• Prepares instruments and supplies for sterilization; cleans and decontaminates instruments; assists in cleaning and preparing OR suite for next case.
• Provides the appropriate instrumentation to the surgeon as needed.
• Provides psychological and physical comfort measures to patient and reports changes to RN/Charge Nurse.
• Performs the professional, clinical and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
