Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Great Bend, KS is seeking a part-time Scrub Technician to join the Operating Room team. You will assist the surgeon by providing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting the perioperative team.

Qualifications include completion of a certified scrub technician program and current BLS certification; licensure as CST/LPN/EMT or 2+ years scrub experience may substitute. This role requires attention to asepsis and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Completion of a certified scrub technician program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist, LPN or EMT licensure required, or two+ years scrub experience may substitute.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and OR standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain asepsis, positioning, prepping and draping, needle and instrument count, specimen care and dressing application.
• Prepare instruments and supplies for sterilization; decontaminate instruments; assist in cleaning/preparing OR suite for next case.
• Provide appropriate instrumentation to surgeon.
• Identify changes in condition and report to RN/Charge Nurse.
