Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking an experienced Operating Room First Assistant to support surgical teams across multiple facilities. You will prepare suites, assist during procedures, and help ensure patient safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires reading/writing/speaking English, BLS CPR, and CSA certification. Prior first assistant experience and willingness to travel within the AdventHealth system are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak conversational English.
• 2+ years as a first assistant preferred.
• BLS CPR certification required; CSA or state CSA certification; CST preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during surgeries; aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and intraoperative tasks.
• Prepare operating suites with instruments, supplies, and equipment per surgeon cards.
• Maintain safe OR environment and patient comfort; ensure sterility and proper turnover.
• Supervise OR team members and coordinate with nursing staff.
