Job summary

Indiana University Health in Bloomington is seeking an experienced scheduling coordinator to manage surgical procedures, diagnostic tests and therapy services within the Pre/Post Surgery setting. You will coordinate across departments, maintain accurate records and ensure timely orders while supporting efficient patient care.

The role requires knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification and basic computer skills, with preference for Cerner scheduling experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification preferred.
• Knowledge of Cerner scheduling preferred.
• Requires general knowledge of medical terminology and general anatomy to recognize and accurately record requested examinations and diagnoses.
• Requires basic computer skills.
• Scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgical procedures, diagnostic tests, therapy services and other medical appointments timely and accurately.
• Coordinates scheduling with other departments and facilities and ensures optimal utilization of patient facilities to support patient care.
• Maintains related records, codes charges, and performs related clerical and administrative duties; ensures timely receipt of written orders and verifies orders meet compliance guidelines; may be responsible for charge audit functions.
