Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to perform pre-operative interviews and coordinate scheduling for procedures. The role collaborates with providers, hospital departments, and facilities to arrange meetings and on-call schedules.

This position requires strong coordination and communication skills, with preference for one year of surgical coordinator experience in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience as a surgical coordinator in an acute care/medical surgical setting.
• Education: High school or GED; Associates Degree desirable, but not required.
• Certification, Registration & Licensure: None required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates surgery or surgical procedures with patient, family and facility.
• Interviews and educates patient for surgery.
• Ensures accuracy of all procedures, paperwork, testing and appointments.
• Acts as primary resource for the surgical patient and the surgeon.
• Maintains relationships with outside offices, facilities and hospital departments.
• Assists with the coordination of provider, resident, office, surgical and on-call schedule where appropriate.
