Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years in a medical office or surgical setting.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with insurance authorizations and referrals.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR and scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures in line with physician and OR requirements.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations.
• Gather preoperative testing and clearances.
• Communicate preop, intraop, and postop information to patients and teams.
• Maintain accurate patient data in the EMR and update scheduling systems.
• Identify and escalate scheduling barriers to ensure timely surgery.
