Indiana University Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant/Surgical Scheduling support to coordinate in-person procedures. You will communicate with patients, physicians, and the prior authorization team, review medications, and provide preparation instructions per physician guidance.

Responsibilities include scheduling coordination, clearance submissions, and ensuring smooth patient flow using Cerner EMR and other tools. Strong data entry and BLS certification are required.

Qualificações

• BLS certification required.
• Graduation from Medical Assistant program required.
• CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification required.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the primary patient-facing resource for scheduling in-person surgical procedures.
• Communicate professionally with physicians, patients, surgery center, and prior authorization team.
• Review medications and provide procedure instructions to patients per physician guidance.
• Coordinate procedure scheduling and communicate appointment details and preparation instructions to patients.
• Contact patients by phone regarding rescheduling and prior authorization updates.
• Submit surgery clearance forms and ensure timely follow-up of documentation.
• Monitor and manage physician procedure schedules to ensure templates are used and slots filled.
• Collaborate with providers and support staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
