Kaiser Permanente in Atlanta is seeking a Surgery Scheduling Coordinator to manage the scheduling of outpatient and inpatient procedures, coordinate cross-specialty needs, and ensure timely authorization and pre-operative requirements.

You will liaise with surgeons, PCPs, hospitalists, and external sites, arrange pre-op testing, provide clear patient instructions, and maintain accurate documentation to support high-quality member service.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years scheduling experience (appointments or surgery) or related clinical experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of ICD9/CPT coding.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple tasks.

Responsabilités

• Schedule surgeries and pre-operative appointments to maximize OR utilization.
• Coordinate with physicians, departments and outside hospitals or centers.
• Obtain pre-authorization through QRM and other systems.
• Communicate with patients by phone and email; reschedule when needed.
• Maintain daily log of encounters and document in EMR.
• Coordinate availability of equipment, implants, and support services.
