Job summary

Virtua Health in Cherry Hill is seeking a Medical Clerk to schedule inpatient or outpatient procedures, inform patients and physician offices of prep instructions, and ensure accurate matching of patients and records to facilitate hospital care.

You will manage a high volume of communications, coordinate admissions, and maintain precise data. A High School Diploma and knowledge of medical terminology are required; prior medical clerical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous medical clerical experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage organized flow of patients by inputting procedures and orders.
• Coordinate admission process and scheduling of surgical procedures.
• Alert facilitator to problems and assist in resolution.
• Handle high volume calls and provide customer service.
• Maintain medical records and run reports.
• Maintain office supplies and equipment.
• Orient new staff on scheduling and data collection.
• Assist with unit coverage as needed.
