• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of medical scheduling, registration, or referral coordination preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance processes including verification and authorization requirements.
• Proficiency in EMR systems, patient portals, and office communication tools.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls using approved scripting and route clinical inquiries per clinic policy.
• Register new patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to scheduling; manage referrals.
• Schedule surgical procedures, tests, and ensure pre-op documentation and authorizations.
• Enter and track provider orders, monitor results, and notify staff of delays.
• Provide coverage for the Surgical Coordinator as needed; maintain documentation logs.
