Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
• Experience in medical scheduling and healthcare administration.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
• EPIC experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical procedures, including securing operating room dates and arranging pre- and post-operative appointments.
• Schedule required testing, laboratory work, and consultations needed prior to procedures.
• Communicate surgery-related information to patients and providers and monitor documentation.
• Manage changes to surgical schedules and communicate updates to all involved parties.
• Assist with referrals, authorizations, and patient documentation as needed.
• Ensure patient records and supporting documentation are complete and organized.
• Coordinate communication between departments regarding patient care and medical records.
• Use EMR systems to enter, update, and retrieve scheduling information.
• Generate reports and maintain departmental metrics and scheduling data.
• Prepare correspondence, patient education materials, and other documents.
