Job summary

Saratoga Hospital is seeking a dedicated Surgical Scheduler-OR to join our Operating Room team in Saratoga Springs, NY. This full-time role coordinates surgical procedures, handles pre‑authorization and pre‑surgical clearance, and collaborates with physicians and staff to ensure a smooth schedule.

Responsibilities include maintaining schedules, processing communications, and supporting billing and records as needed. Strong attention to detail and prior OR scheduling experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience using computer scheduling programs and entering patient demographics.
• At least 1 year in a medical office.
• Previous scheduling or OR scheduling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the scheduling of all surgical services cases including GI, ASU, PACU, MS, OR, C‑sections, and some radiology procedures.
• Consult with unit manager or Charge RN and anesthesia concerning case times and changes in the schedule.
• Inform all appropriate departments and staff of changes in the schedule to maintain flow of the schedule.
• Maintain up-to-date surgical schedules and posts in the office.
• Transmit schedules by 12:30 pm daily to appropriate destinations.
• Maintain computer log of all surgical cases and nurse’s notes for OR cases.
• Maintain knowledge of admit types and surgical procedures.
• Order office supplies and maintain surgical paperwork packs.
