Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator to manage the scheduling of DAS and Ambulatory OR surgeries for both adults and pediatrics. The role supports front office operations, including registration, scheduling, and pre/post follow-up calls, and coordinates with insurance to obtain preauthorization.

Responsibilities include coordinating OR surgeries, monitoring workflow, validating demographics, and obtaining pre-certifications and medical clearances.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Certificate in Medical Technology preferred.
• Certificate in ICD-9 preferred.
• Certificate in CPT coding preferred.
• 3 years of scheduling experience, with 2 years in a clinical setting, preferably medical practice.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all OR surgeries and procedures.
• Monitor front office workflow and adjust for optimal service delivery.
• Verify patient demographics and obtain pre-certification for all OR cases.
• Obtain patient medical clearance.
• Resolve patient questions regarding policies and procedures.
