Job summary

OrthoArizona is seeking a Surgery Scheduler in our Scottsdale area to coordinate and manage surgical cases, communicate with patients and physicians, and maintain accurate medical records. This role supports multiple locations and requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

The ideal candidate will have medical scheduling experience, knowledge of surgical workflows, and proficiency with practice management software.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
• Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
• Minimum 1-year experience of medical scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.
• Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians.
• Verify necessary information and records information in patient's medical record.
• Coordinate necessary equipment, surgical assists, and anesthesia relative to surgeries.
• Maintain and updates physician's calendars.
• Answer telephone, screens calls, clears voicemail, returns patient calls in a timely manner.
• Answer questions regarding patient's upcoming surgeries.
• Update patient information.
• Prepare surgical packet materials.
• Assist in training and orienting of new staff.

• 2 years of experience surgery scheduling.
