Job summary

Coffey Health System in Kansas seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the Surgery Department across inpatient and outpatient surgery, endoscopy, PACU, and surgery admissions. The RN assesses patient needs, plans care, and coordinates with the care team.

Requirements include an active Kansas RN license, ACLS and BLS within 6 months, and prior OR/PACU experience; pediatrics and postpartum care are a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice in the state of Kansas.
• ACLS and BLS (within 6 months acute medical surgical care nursing).
• Prior operating room, PACU experience.
• Pediatrics, newborns and postpartum care.

Responsibilities

• Perform in inpatient and outpatient surgery, endoscopy, PACU, and surgery admission.
• Identify patient needs and priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Coordinate care between other professional disciplines as needed and document/communicate with the team.
• Maintain safe environment and meet customer needs in a caring, cost-effective manner.
• Communicate with floor charge nurse regarding care and transfer of the surgical patient.
• Accept assignments based on census, acuity, needs, and competencies; delegate as needed.
