Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Nurse for the PreOp-PACU unit in Shawnee, KS. The RN will assess, plan, and coordinate perioperative care from admission to discharge, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safe anesthesia recovery.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for surgery, monitoring during the perioperative period, and providing education for patients and families. Requires BSN and active KS RN license; ACLS/PALS/BLS certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active state RN license in good standing.
• BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment; ACLS within 6 months; PALS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for surgery.
• Assess patient status perioperatively.
• Develop and implement perioperative care plans.
• Monitor recovery from anesthesia and manage vitals.
• Provide education to patient and family about perioperative care and discharge.
• Document care accurately and timely.
• Participate in team meetings and quality improvement activities.

Education

BSN or equivalent

Current KS RN license in good standing
