Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is seeking a day shift, PRN OR Registered Nurse (RN) to join the surgical services team.

The Circulating Nurse coordinates multidisciplinary activities to ensure a safe perioperative environment and advocates for patients during intra‑operative care and immediate post‑anesthesia recovery. Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, a Kansas RN license, BLS within 14 days of hire, and ACLS

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current Nursing License in the State of Kansas.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Current ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary activities to provide a safe environment for surgical patients.
Assess patients’ physical and psychological needs.
Evaluate and implement measures to assure safe recovery from anesthesia.
Advocate for patient safety during intra-operative and immediate post-op recovery and transport to PACU.
