Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is seeking a day shift, PRN OR Registered Nurse (RN) to join the surgical services team.

The Circulating Nurse coordinates multidisciplinary activities to ensure a safe perioperative environment and advocates for patients during intra‑operative care and immediate post‑anesthesia recovery. Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, a Kansas RN license, BLS within 14 days of hire, and ACLS

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Nursing License in the State of Kansas.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Current ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary activities to provide a safe environment for surgical patients.
• Assess patients’ physical and psychological needs.
• Evaluate and implement measures to assure safe recovery from anesthesia.
• Advocate for patient safety during intra-operative and immediate post-op recovery and transport to PACU.
