Carle Health in Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit to provide postoperative care for complex surgical patients. You will handle wound care, ostomy education, and tracheostomy management, while ensuring thorough documentation and safety.

Collaborating with surgical residents and OMFS, you will develop and adjust individualized care plans and contribute to a high-acuity team focused on patient-centered outcomes and family education.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois or eligible for licensure (IDFPR).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days (AHA).
• HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provides post-operative care for complex surgical patients on the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit.
• Performs wound management including wound vac care and ostomy education.
• Monitors patients with tracheostomies and advanced care needs; ensures accurate documentation.
• Collaborates with surgical residents and OMFS to develop and adjust care plans.
• Maintains patient safety, quality care, and effective communication with patients and families.
