Job summary

Carle Health seeks a dedicated RN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. You will provide high-acuity postoperative care, manage complex wound therapies, and collaborate with surgical residents and OMFS teams to optimize patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and continuous education while supporting a 43-bed unit with a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio and 1:3 for advanced care patients.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN (IL IDFPR) and BLS within 30 days as required.
• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in post-operative and wound care beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-operative care for complex surgical patients.
• Manage wound care including wound vac and ostomy care.
• Collaborate with surgical residents and OMFS teams to ensure safe patient transitions.
• Maintain accurate documentation for care plans and outcomes.
• Ensure patient and staff safety and participate in unit education.
