Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, Tennessee is seeking an RN (ASN or BSN) to join the Surgery unit on the 10-day shift. You will provide quality patient care using the nursing process under supervision, coordinate with staff, and ensure a safe and efficient flow on your assigned unit.

Responsibilities include initial patient assessments, documentation, bedside care, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians and other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Completion of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in nursing is required.
• Current RN licensure in Tennessee.
• BLS certification must be obtained within orientation; ACLS/PALS preferred; NRP within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Initial patient assessment and care planning using the nursing process.
• Documents care and monitors in the medical record.
• Coordinates bedside care and assists with skilled procedures.
• Administers medications, IV fluids, blood products.
• Informs physician of patient status and assists with treatments and rounds.
• Assists in supervising nursing staff and ensuring accurate transcription of orders.
• Prioritizes physician orders and supports unit operations.
• Communicates with patient/family and coordinates discharge planning.
• Delivers proper disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
