Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in a Laboratory Science meeting CLIA high complexity testing requirements.
• Basic knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an anatomic or hospital pathology lab is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all technical aspects of grossing, dissection and dictating surgical specimens.
• Receives specimens from couriers, verifies counts and patient identification.
• Accessions cases into the hospital LIS, prints barcodes and prepares specimens for transfer.
• Maintains the autopsy suite and morgue areas; assists in autopsy functions as needed.
• Rotating weekend and holiday on call and participates in QA and accreditation activities.
