Job summary

Lake Region Healthcare Corporation is seeking a Pathologist Assistant to perform or assist in accessioning, dissection, evisceration, description, and histologic sampling of surgical specimens under the supervision of a pathologist.

The role includes gross examination, intraoperative pathology support, QA/QC adherence, and collaboration with clinical teams. Requires an associate degree in science or related field, prior histology experience preferred, and English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in science, laboratory science, medical laboratory technology or related field.
• Experience in surgical pathology or histology is preferred.
• Ability to attend the work site and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist in accessioning, dissection, evisceration, description, and histologic sampling of surgical specimens.
• Provide gross examination and tissue selection under pathologist supervision.
• Support intraoperative pathology (frozen sections) and coordinate with operating room staff.
