Job summary

100 LCMC Health is seeking a Pathologist Assistant to support pathologists with accessioning, dissection, description and sampling of a wide range of anatomical specimens, including autopsy techniques. The role involves supervising residents and performing intra-operative frozen sections within approved protocols.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in a Pathologist Assistant program or is a licensed physician with extensive grossing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist pathologists in accessioning, dissection, description and sampling of specimens.
• Supervise and train entry level residents in gross room methods.
• Perform frozen sections and intra-operative consultations.
• Coordinate tissue specimen acquisition for research.
• Maintain digital images and specimen records.
• Assist with post mortem activities as needed.
