HCA Healthcare invites applications for a Pathologists' Assistant (PRN) in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This staff role supports pathologists in surgical pathology services, handling gross examination, tissue selection, and specimen processing under supervision.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (Masters in Pathologists’ Assistant preferred), 3-5 years’ hospital pathology or histology experience, and ASCP certification preferred. Excellent teamwork and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Masters in Pathologists’ Assistant
• 3-5 years’ experience in a pathology or histology setting
• ASCP Certification preferred or 3-5 years’ grossing experience in a hospital setting as equivalence

Responsibilities

• Organize and improve workflow in frozen section and gross examination areas.
• Collaborate with on-site Pathologists to determine grossing priorities.
• Dictate gross findings and refer tissue sections for microscopic review.
• Maintain records of dissections and assist in report compilation.
• Photograph specimens for instruction and documentation.
• Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement.
