Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our operating room team as a first assistant. The role involves assisting with surgical procedures, patient positioning, prep and draping, as well as collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes during and after surgery.

The position emphasizes adherence to asepsis, meticulous intraoperative support, and active participation in post-operative care and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Performs histories and physical examinations.
• Assists with admission work-ups and consults.
• Participates in surgical care management and post-operative care.

Responsibilities

• Performs histories and physical examinations, ongoing patient assessments and some critical care procedures.
• Assists with admission work-ups and/or consults to facilitate care across the continuum.
• Initiates, monitors, alters and orders treatments including but not limited to device placement, therapy, home health referral, and discharge planning.
• Participates in the hospital Quality Improvement process.
• Assists Physician by performing individualized surgical care management before, during and after surgery.
