Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Participates in preparatory steps of surgery, gathering supplies, assisting in room setup.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and ensures supplies are ready before incision.
• Maintains sterile field and aseptic technique for materials and equipment.
• Sets up and operates OR equipment, moves and positions instruments, and checks equipment condition.
• Trains Surgical Technologists and new Surgical Assistants as needed.
• May perform validated procedures under direct supervision of the surgeon.
• May assist with wound closure and patient positioning under supervision.
• Ensures safety and environmental disinfection of the operating room.
• Keeps documentation up to date for ongoing competency verification.
• Provides patient-focused care and adheres to age-specific care standards.
