Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a First Assistant in the OR to support surgeons during procedures and manage perioperative patient care. The role involves pre/post-operative planning, wound assessments, and collaboration with the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes.

Candidates should be an RN with licensure and experience in operating room settings, able to assist with instrumentation, hemostasis, and intraoperative tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required or in-state eligibility.
• Experience in perioperative or operating room settings.
• Ability to assist surgeons during procedures and manage patient care before/during/after surgery.

Responsibilities

• Performs histories and physical examinations and participates in daily rounds.
• Assists with admission work-ups and consults across care continuum.
• Supports device placement, therapy orders, and discharge planning as directed.
• Assists surgeon with case, providing proper exposure and hemostasis.
• Maintains asepsis and communicates care plans to patients and team.
