Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Perioperative Attendant to support surgical teams by preparing OR suites, assisting with patient transfers, and restocking supplies. The role works under R.N. guidance and adheres to regulatory policies.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent; one year perioperative experience preferred; BLS is preferred and must be obtained before direct patient care. Benefits include competitive pay and comprehensive coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred at hire; must obtain from approved source before direct patient care.
• One year perioperative experience preferred.
• Hard/Tech/Clinical Skills: monitor patient conditions, complete routine tasks, operate basic equipment/machinery.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily setup of the surgical suites and room turnover between cases, maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
• Assists with patient positioning, lifting and transfers; performs sterile holds as needed.
• Restocks and maintains supplies and linens for surgery; may manage oxygen tanks per department design.
• Sets up equipment and positioning devices; reports broken or missing equipment to supervisor.
• Transports patients between departments; may obtain clean inpatient beds and stretchers as needed.
• Responds to requests including running errands and obtaining items as needed.
• Performs patient POCT and daily quality control checks on POCT devices.
