Job summary

Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY is seeking a Perioperative Attendant to support the surgical team. Responsibilities include setting up OR suites, assisting with patient positioning, stocking supplies, transporting patients, and ensuring clean, ready rooms under RN guidance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, are detail-oriented, demonstrates teamwork and critical thinking, and may hold BLS certification. Prior perioperative experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification preferred upon hire (must obtain prior to direct patient care).
• One year perioperative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up surgical suites and handles room turnover between cases.
• Assists with patient positioning, lifting and transfers; performs sterile holds as needed.
• Restocks supplies and linens; maintains equipment and positioning devices.
• Transports patients between departments; may obtain clean inpatient beds and stretchers.
• Responds to requests and runs errands as needed.
• Performs POCT and daily quality control checks on POCT devices.
