Job summary

Mercy Health – Lourdes Hospital is seeking a Perioperative Attendant to assist clinical staff and facilitate surgical procedures. You will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to support the delivery of care in the operating room and related areas.

The role involves setting up ORs, helping with patient positioning, transporting patients, and maintaining supplies. A high school diploma is required, with preferred BLS and perioperative experience.”

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire; must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care.
• One-year perioperative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily set-up of surgical suites and room turnover between cases, maintaining a clean and orderly work area in the OR.
• Assists with patient positioning, lifting and transfers; performs sterile holds as needed.
• Restocks supplies and linens for surgery/anesthesia; may manage oxygen tanks as directed.
• Sets up equipment and positioning devices; reports any broken or missing equipment and stores properly.
• Transports patients between departments as needed; may obtain clean inpatient beds and stretchers.
• Responds to requests including errands and item retrieval from other departments.
• Performs POCT and daily quality control checks on POCT devices.
