Job summary

Unity Hospital is seeking a Perioperative Assistant to support the Operating Room team. You will assist in instrument setup, processing, and turnover to ensure smooth case flow and patient safety.

The role requires attention to sterile technique, reliable communication, and the ability to work Monday through Friday with on-call responsibilities. This position is based in Unity Hospital’s OR and offers full-time hours with a 37.5-hour work week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of medical management techniques and processes.
• Two years of experience in central decontamination preferred.
• Reads, writes and speaks English.
• Proficient with computers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare supplies for cases; assist OR staff in setup, cleanup and turnover of operating rooms; assist with patient positioning.
• Stock and order supplies; rotate stock; maintain sterile environment; sterilize equipment and transport items.
• Transport patients to/from OR, run errands, deliver equipment, assist in Pre-An and PACU.
