Job summary

Tenet Healthcare seeks an OR Materials Coordinator to oversee daily operations for purchase and distribution of surgical materials and equipment. You will ensure inventory accuracy, coordinate with purchasing and OR leadership, and manage repairs and replacements to support safe patient care.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication with vendors, and experience managing automated ordering systems. This full-time position offers career growth within a large health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in Science or Business preferred.
• Three to five years progressively more responsible OR technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orders, receives and checks in surgical instruments and equipment and supplies for the surgical suite; ensures all orders are complete and authorized; maintains appropriate inventory.
• Handles repair, maintenance or replacement of equipment and surgical instruments; ensures safety checks prior to initial use; monitors hazard alerts and recalls.
• Maintains records for equipment, instruments and supplies.
• Participates in maintaining an automated system for ordering and tracking stock; supports purchasing to keep master database updated.
• Meets with sales reps/service personnel; follows up on repairs; may assist in vendor contracts and discounts.
• Assists in preparing department budget; provides input for capital and manpower budget; maintains reports on inventory status and budget performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
