Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Surgical Coordinator RN to serve as the primary resource for the surgical team, bridging nursing leadership with daily patient care. You will coordinate OR and GI schedules, support equipment readiness, and guide staff through policy-based practice.

This role emphasizes staff training, knowledge of specialty areas, and collaboration with physicians, anesthesia, and departments to ensure timely surgeries and optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in a Medical Center or similar setting.
• Knowledge of operating room practices and instrumentation.
• CNOR certification or equivalent within four years of hire.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support OR schedule and staff coordination to ensure surgeries are on time.
• Coordinate changing schedules with physicians, staff, and departments; notify delays.
• Oversee value analysis, budget requests, and cost reductions with relevant coordinators.
• Lead training and orientation for specialty areas; maintain current clinical knowledge.
