Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Prior scheduling experience in healthcare.
Understanding of insurance policies and medical billing.
Proficient in EMR systems and MiChart scheduling.

Responsibilities

Schedule surgeries in accordance with patient needs, surgeon availability, and facility schedules.
Organize and secure surgery dates through clinic or phone contact.
Call patients to schedule surgeries and instruct preparation per protocol.
Coordinate pre- and post-operative appointments and tests.
Obtain authorizations and medical records; ensure consents are in place.
Maintain and monitor the surgical schedule in MiChart.
Answer pre-surgery documentation questions.
Serve as the primary contact for direct surgery scheduling calls.
Monitor MiChart inbox and triage patient calls.
Provide onboarding and cross-coverage for OR teams.
Generate reports on surgical volume and utilization.
