Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Services to assess patient needs during procedures, develop and document care plans, and lead the Riecker Surgery Center team while coordinating with patients, families, anesthesia, and other departments.

The role emphasizes preceptorship, continuing education, and adherence to policies, with responsibilities spanning admission, room supervision, patient readiness, and post-operative follow-up; CNOR preferred, RN license required,

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess needs of surgical patients and develop a plan of care; implement and adjust during procedure.
• Supervise room activity and coordinate schedule changes; assemble equipment and assist anesthesia; monitor sterile field.
• Complete admission procedures; assess patient needs; notify physician/anesthesia; document appropriately; ensure readiness for discharge.
• Communicate with patient, family, physician, team, and manager; document appropriately.
• Participate in staff development through in-services and preceptorships.
