Tennessee Oncology seeks a Medical Assistant Scheduler to support a multidisciplinary surgical oncology team. The role requires strong clinical, administrative, and communication skills to coordinate patient care across specialties and ensure timely scheduling.

Responsibilities include assisting with oncology procedures, patient education, and collaboration with surgeons, NPs, infusion centers, and other departments. Prior MA experience and EMR proficiency are valued.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; BLS certification required or within 90 days of hire.
• Graduate of MA training program or 6 months MA experience in healthcare setting.
• MA certification preferred (CMA/RMA/CCMA).

Responsabilidades

• Assist with in-office oncology-related procedures as directed by providers, including wound care and port care.
• Provide clear and compassionate pre-operative and post-operative instructions to oncology patients and families.
• Educate and support patients and caregivers navigating oncology treatment, surgery, and recovery.
• Coordinate hospital admissions, discharges, and follow-up with surgeons and NPs.
• Coordinate with infusion centers, radiation oncology, and pathology to align treatment plans and communicate results.
• Coordinate urgent or complex oncology referrals for timely scheduling and continuity of care.
• Schedule surgical procedures, pre-operative testing, multidisciplinary consults, and post-operative appointments.
• Upload and maintain documentation in hospital scheduling platforms (eCW) and provider calendars.
