Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and support in a busy oncology clinic. You will perform vital signs, rooming, medication review, and EMR updates under the supervision of providers and licensed staff.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, scheduling, and coordination of referrals, while maintaining clinic readiness and adherence to TO policies. High school diploma and MA training or experience are required, with BLS within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; MA training or 6 months healthcare experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred; active BLS certification within 3 months is required.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic office software is expected.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Measure height, weight, and vital signs; document pain and distress scores.
• Room patients and prepare for examinations.
• Review medications and allergies; update EMR.
• Confirm prescriptions/refills under provider supervision.
• Coordinate with front office for scheduling and referrals.
• Assist with procedures and port access as needed.
• Stock rooms and prepare clinic for daily operations.
• Maintain documentation and meet TO policies.
