Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Medical Assistant Scheduler to support a multidisciplinary surgical team in oncologic care. This role requires strong clinical, administrative, and communication skills to ensure seamless patient care across specialties.

Responsibilities include assisting with oncology procedures, providing prep and post-op instructions, and coordinating with surgeons, infusion centers, and pathology to ensure timely scheduling and documentation. EMT familiarity with eCW is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant Training Program or 6 months MA experience in healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
• Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) preferred.
• Proficient in EMR systems (preferably eCW) and Microsoft Office.

Responsabilités

• Assist with in-office oncology procedures as directed by providers (wound care, drain management, dressings, port care).
• Provide clear pre- and post-operative instructions tailored to oncology patients and families.
• Offer empathetic education and support to patients and caregivers through treatment and recovery.
• Coordinate hospital admissions, discharges, and follow-up with surgeons and NPs.
• Coordinate with infusion centers, radiation oncology, and pathology to align treatment plans.
