Position Summary
The Department of Surgery seeks a surgeon to serve as Division Chief of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery. This leadership role involves overseeing clinical care, education, and research, guiding a team of faculty and advanced practice providers. The candidate will foster collaboration, secure funding, and align divisional goals with departmental and university strategies. The division plays a vital role in cancer care, collaborating with UNC Cancer Center and Health Services.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD or equivalent, board-certified in General Surgery, fellowship in Surgical Oncology or related field, eligible for NC licensure. A record of academic excellence, leadership, and collaborative management is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Focus in surgical oncology with a national reputation in academic surgery.
Physical/Mental Requirements
This role is designated as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act, requiring reporting of crimes and annual training.
