Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Nursing Attendant for the 2 East – Surgical unit. The role focuses on supporting patient care on a 30-bed unit serving surgical patients including orthopedics, urology and bariatric cases.

Schedule includes 12-hour nights (6 pm–6 am), full-time with every third weekend and shift/weekend differential eligibility. Responsibilities include assisting licensed nurses, maintaining a safe patient environment, and participating in orientation of new staff.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred or a graduate of a nursing educational program.
• Experience: Experience applying customer service behaviors and communication skills required. Previous experience as a Nursing Attendant, Nurse Aide, or the completion of a nurse aide training program or enrolled in a nursing educational program required.
• Certifications/Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Performs selected patient care treatments and tasks as delegated by licensed nurse.
• Maintains a neat, clean and safe environment for patients and other nursing staff.
• Responds to patient call lights and priorities in the patient care process.
• Assists in post mortem care and transports the body to Morgue on occasion.
• Transports medications within the hospital as requested and needed according to Hospital policy.
