Job summary

WellSpan York Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support psychiatric patients in the unit. The role operates during the evening/night shift, with a 72 hours per two weeks schedule (7pm-7am), including every third weekend and rotating holidays.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, vital sign checks, and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, CNA certification preferred, and BLS upon hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA certificate program or equivalent preferred.
• Less than 1 year of relevant experience required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Child Protective Services Law clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients with focus on safety, comfort and therapeutic environment.
• Assists team in care and evaluation of patients.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Checks and charts patient vital signs accurately.
• May apply restraints or assist with seclusion under supervision.
