Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern (PRN) in Surgical services to join a leading healthcare system. Under RN supervision, you will perform delegated basic care and support patient needs while ensuring a clean and safe environment.

You must be enrolled in an accredited RN program with a willingness to complete required certifications, including BLS and crisis intervention within designated timeframes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification, current (Obtained/maintained within time frames required by hospital policy)
• Must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program
• Can be considered for Nurse Extern after completion of first nursing semester or CNA in first semester of RN program
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate care for patient populations served in the department.
• Communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals.
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
• Document patient care information in the appropriate computer screens.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) for assigned patients
