TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN in Surgical Services. You will assist the nursing staff under RN supervision, performing basic patient care tasks and ADL assistance while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current.
• Must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program.
• Can be considered for Nurse Extern after completion of first nursing semester or CNA in first semester of RN program.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate care for patient populations served in the department.
• Communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals.
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
• Document patient care information in the appropriate computer screens.
• Assist with ADL’s for assigned patients.
