Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN to assist the nursing staff with patient care under RN supervision. The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered support and adherence to safety and documentation standards.

The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited RN program, hold a current BLS certification, and may advance after the first nursing semester or CNA in RN program. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification current or obtained within hospital policy timeframes.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program.
• Nurse Extern may be considered after first nursing semester or CNA in RN program.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care with knowledge and skills for department populations.
• Communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals.
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care while upholding patient rights and dignity.
• Document patient care information in appropriate computer screens.
• Assist with ADLs for assigned patients.
