Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator at St. Davids South Austin Medical Center to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate unit operations across shifts.

The CNC works with the management team to evaluate nursing care, lead staff, and support actions to improve patient outcomes and departmental performance. Requires RN licensure and BSN/associate degree.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN – Registered Nurse credential.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit, with the management team.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and managers to foster teamwork that improves outcomes and service.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Supports embedding nursing strategies (employee rounds, hourly rounds, etc.) to improve engagement.
• Provides recommendations on interviewing, selecting, and training staff; handles performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor in line with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Supports inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
