Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrated OR experience including sterile technique and perioperative workflows.
• Strong foundation in medicine and nursing principles; apply clinical judgment in surgical and recovery settings.
• Hands-on experience in surgery support, including pre-op preparation, intraoperative assistance, and post-op monitoring and care.
• Proven commitment to patient care, including education, safety, comfort, and empathetic communication.
• Active RN license in Virginia (or eligibility for licensure); BSN preferred.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Role Description The Surgical Nurse at Maia Plastic Surgery is a full-time, on-site role based in Tysons Corner, VA. This role supports surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, organizing instruments and supplies, and assisting the surgeon and clinical team before, during, and after surgery. Daily responsibilities include pre-operative patient assessments, intraoperative monitoring, and post-operative care, including patient education on recovery, follow-up care and postop visits. The Surgical Nurse collaborates closely with the surgeon, anesthesiology providers, and front office staff to coordinate safe, efficient workflows and maintain high standards of infection control and documentation. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing empathetic, high-quality care in an aesthetic surgical setting.
