Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program is required.
• Active Medical Assistant certification is required (RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA or NCCT).
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by recording vitals and chief complaint.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures in the clinic.
• Coordinate patient care including referrals, authorizations and scheduling.
• Provide clerical support including medical records and billing-related information.
• Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment and proper equipment sterilization.
• Order supplies, stock care areas and manage medication-related tasks.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and staff to ensure quality care.
• Complete onboarding/orientation activities as needed and work under provider supervision.
