Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant certification is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer skills and ability to use medical software are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by taking and recording vital signs and chief complaints, and document pain scores.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures and manage patient flow through the clinic.
• Coordinate patient care including referrals, authorizations and scheduling; communicate test results to patients.
• Provide clerical support including medical records, lab results, and billing-related information.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and sterilization of equipment; handle supplies and inventory.
• Order supplies as directed and assist with medication handling and recalls.
• Develop effective communication with internal and external customers and participate in onboarding activities.
• Work under supervision of providers and interact with staff, physicians, patients and external contacts.
• Prioritize data from multiple sources to respond to patient changes in health status.
