Job summary

UC Davis Health seeks an advanced nurse practitioner to deliver independent clinical expertise to adult inpatients across surgical services and hospitalist care. You will assess and treat patients, coordinate with attending physicians, and participate in team education and care planning.

The role emphasizes high-quality patient outcomes, teamwork, and professional accountability within a 90% clinical schedule and 10% other professional activity.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a nurse practitioner in an adult inpatient setting.
• Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction.
• California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License.
• California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction.
• DEA Certificate within 3 months of hire.
• AHA/Red Cross BLS or UC Davis Health CPR.
• National NP board certification in aligned specialty.
• ACLS within 7 days of hire.
• PALS within 7 days of hire.
• Graduation with a master’s degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Judgement skills to effectively meet the needs of patients.
• Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role.
• Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider.
