Position Summary=
Responsible for providing patient out of pocket estimates and surgical estimates to elective surgery candidates in advance of procedure.
Job Duties
- Focus on calculating costst and preparing estimates for surgeries.
- Utilize payer websites to determine current patient out of pocket amounts due and utilize various tools to estimate procedure cost and reimbursesment.
- Communicate to patient out of pocket estimates in advance of surgery. Record any communications in the system.
- Escalate any issues and concerns.
- Maintains positive relationships with all customers, employees, physicians, patients, visitors and guests.
- Uses sound customer relation practices and maintains high levels of visibility and accessibility
- Understand various payer reimbursement methodologies
- Document results and alert supervisors or managers of trends.
- Complete productivity reports and submit to supervisors within the established timeframe.
- Support the department's customer service and performance improvement goals.
- Collaborate with other staff to enhance patient care and service.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Ability to read, understand and follow detailed procedures. Analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities necessary. Proven skills of critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making. Ability to prioritize, organize, and handle a high volume workload efficiently essential.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service internally and externally.
Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure Requirements
- 4+ years’ experience in a hospital, ASC or physician office setting
- Previous related operational experience
